Child Care Law
We advise and represent parents and other family members as well as children and Children’s Guardians in all public law proceedings.
These include care proceedings; secure accommodation applications; applications for discharge of care orders and applications for contact with children in care. In addition we advise and assist where children are voluntarily accommodated and will attend Child Protection Case Conferences and Child Care Reviews.
We also advise in adoption proceedings.
Elen Davies and Claire Holland who head the team are members of the Law Society Children Panel, and between them have over 30 years experience of public law proceedings involving children.
Can I Get Free Legal Advice
Legal Aid is available and is non means tested for representation in Care/ Supervision Order application proceedings for parents.
We may be able to give you free advice and assistance under the Legal Help Scheme, if your case is covered by the scheme and you are financially eligible. We can check this for you.
We may also be able to act for you under a Public Funding Certificate if your case is covered by the Public Funding Regulations and you are financially eligible. Again , we can advise you about this.
If you are not eligible for assistance under the Legal Help Scheme or under a Public Funding Certificate, you can instruct us on a private client basis ( i.e. you will need to pay your legal costs yourself). We can advise you further about this if necessary.
Fixed Fee Services
We offer an initial 30 minutes consultation for a fixed fee of £50.
